That's fuckin' right me laddies, you read the title. I, once again will be yelling out ideas that work for LBP as a whole. But this time it isn't DLC or lost content; it's marketing.
Marketing throughout the franchise
LittleBigPlanet 1
Since LittleBigPlanet 1 was basically an indie game (Mm are still considered indie-developers by a lot of people), it would come to no surprise that international marketing was very slim. In the UK there was a campaign under no specific name with the premise of people creating levels around their interests.

Surprisingly, at least two European spots were taken down. One was Butt World, and the other was one created by some lady (I only saw it twice a long time ago). Janice World is about the original LittleBigMegabitch, Janice, with her friend, Molly. Only recently did I realise that Molly was one of my inspirations for my character Helga. Huh.
Butt World was my other favourite Euro-spot, but that was removed for some stupid reason.

The US Tv-Spots were kinda bad. If you didn't click on them yet, do it. Now. They have this weird 17-year-old MLG crowd guy explaining the best factors of LittleBigPlanet. By the way, building with friends is only fun if they feel like being humane.
LittleBigPlanet 2
Let me paint a scene for you.
It's 2 AM in the morning, a schoolnight of course, and after a long session of LittleBigPlanet 1, you decide to look up some videos on LittleBigPlanet PSP (very undocumented at the time). It's the 11th of May, 2010, and your ten. After typing in "Little Big Plan" into the YouTube search bar, you see it.
LittleBigPlanet 2
And you click that unknown link, thinking it's a joke, only to find out it was from the official LittleBigPlanet channel.
That was what happened to me that fateful night, I experienced hype for the first time ever and I loved it. Keep that scenario in mind as you see this trailer once again.

I watched that one trailer over and over and over and over and over and over and over AND OVER AND OVER AND O-
Then they released more trailers, I won't post all of them here, that's too many. Instead, let me post the best campaign that should have reappeared in LittleBigPlanet 3...

"Feature-ettes"

The music, OH GOD THE MUSIC! Grabinators' music was on YouTube before the owner took it down by copyright claim, someone needs to reupload that song (Young Hearts by the Pixels). Out of all of the things that these trailers did right, the music is definitely in the top three. Some of these songs don't even exist outside of these trailers, which is a real shame (especially the Bounce pad, Story mode, and Controlinator trailers).
Another thing that these trailers did right? The endings bits. What I mean by that is simple; in the end of each trailer you see a pile of televisions that all have text that say a certain feature (some had yet to be announced). You could pause and see something like "Danger Tweaker" and say "What the crap is a 'Danger Tweaker'?", it could have been anything from something that allows you to be immune to dangers or something that makes something dangerous.
The only thing that can be considered bad would be that they showed some very unfinished areas. Just watch the Grabinator trailer, you see an entire untextured area of Victoria's Lab at 1:11, how that got through editing, I don't know.

How this could be used in the future
No, I'm not talking about LittleBigPlanet 3, shut up.
Let me just say it now, LittleBigPlanet 3's marketing campaign was complete and utter crap. I barely liked the trailers of the #StandSmall trailers, each was snarky but that was it. The other trailers were fantastic, especially the announcement ones. I was expecting a "Feature-ette" series, and quite obviously there is no such thing. I've actually considered trying to make my own fan-made Feature-ette trailers, but I had to factory reset my computer and thus lost Sony Vegas... Long story short, it's probably never going to happen. The closest thing we got was that weird Heroes of Bunkum trailer, and that would be stretch.
Sumo, get on that right now. I don't care if there's no point now that LittleBigPlanet 3 is out, we still need a Boost Boots or Pumpinator trailer.
Hell, if LittleBigPlanet HUB is even still a thing, you could randomly release a Brolley (or whatever that umbrella thing was called) Feature-ette. Outside of a few hundred "WAT, THAT'S STIL A THING!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!??!!? O MY GEE, SOOMU Y U B TRICKIN US!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?", I don't think anyone would mind. Really, I totally wouldn't do a little Victory Jig and then collect the twenty bucks that someone owes me.
I wouldn't.
Promise.
